Meet Nicole – Founder of Remembering Moxie, a pet grief support community
After losing Moxie, I longed for a place where love and loss could be shared openly. With training in pet loss coaching and animal communication, I created Remembering Moxie™ - a compassionate community where grieving hearts gather to honor their animals, share stories, and feel held in understanding and care.
Honoring the bond between you and your pet - together.
Remembering Moxie™ was created as a compassionate community for those navigating the ache of pet loss. Here, love isn’t something to move on from but something we continue to share. Through connection, storytelling, and presence, we honor the lives that changed ours and the love that still remains.
How we approach healing after loss
ReMo’s approach blends lived experience with gentle structure — offering guidance and support that honours both love and loss.
Grief without timelines: We believe healing has no fixed pace. Your grief is valid, whether fresh or years old.
Space for remembrance: We hold room for your memories, your stories, and the ongoing love that remains.
Community care: Grieving in connection reminds us we’re not alone and helps restore a sense of belonging.
Gentle guidance: With Nicole’s nursing and holistic background, you’re supported with sensitivity and understanding.
Meaning through memory: Healing doesn’t erase your bond — it transforms it into something enduring.
The Heart Behind Our Pet Loss Community
-

Compassion Before Conversation
We lead with presence, not pressure. Every story, tear, and silence is met with care. Grief is honored here - without timelines, expectations, or the need to be “okay.”
-

Connection Through Story
Sharing memories reminds us that love doesn’t end. Through collective storytelling, we find belonging and recognition in one another’s loss, easing the isolation that grief can bring.
-

Love Is Legacy
Each animal we’ve loved leaves an imprint that shapes us. Remembering Moxie™ celebrates that enduring bond, turning remembrance into a quiet, lasting act of devotion.
A heart-led approach to grief, grounded in compassion and community.
If you’ve been lucky enough to love a pet so deeply that their loss feels insurmountable, you’ve found your people here. You’re not alone.
I’ve loved animals my whole life - more than twenty over the years - but nothing prepared me for losing Moxie. She was my heart,, my soul companion, my steady presence in a world that can feel so unsteady. When she died, it felt like the ground disappeared. I could hardly breathe, let alone function. The grief was physical - raw, relentless, and consuming.
I tried everything I could to ease it. I spoke with kind professionals, read the books, followed all the advice, I even found myself researching how many months would I feel this way - but what I really needed was understanding. I needed to be in a space where my love and pain could both exist, where I didn’t have to explain or hide how much it hurt.
Remembering Moxie™ was born from that longing - for connection, for comfort, for something that feels human and honest in the midst of heartbreak. Here, we walk this path together. We speak their names, share our stories, and help one another carry the love forward, gently, one breath at a time.
Nicole Brown, RN, BScN, MPH
Founder of Remembering Moxie™
I’m Nicole - a lifelong animal lover, nurse, and educator who has spent more than two decades supporting people through life’s most tender transitions.
When I lost my heart cat, Moxie, I was forever changed. I searched for a space that could hold the depth of that loss and the love that remained—but couldn’t find one.
So I created it. Remembering Moxie™ was born from both personal heartbreak and professional experience, blending compassion, community, and evidence-informed care. I love working with people who have loved deeply - those who feel the ache of grief because their bond was extraordinary. Together, we honour that love, not by “moving on,” but by learning to carry it forward, gently and with grace.
